I agree with some of what he said, but I feel with E-books we are starting all over again in the dark ages where anyone even remotely literate could publish a book.
E-readers and I-Pads are great but their download process needs work. Quite often the book is jumbled in areas with mixed up text and unitelligible script.
As for the covers, the industry has needed to pull up their pants on this for a long time. The covers over the last 10-20 have been decidedly uninspired and boring. One might even say amaturish at times.
Yes the industry does tend to lean towards the tried and true, formulaic (but never use that word no matter how true it is), but there are still publishers out there that are making an effort to elove without losing good content.
